Calling all pre-service teachers! ASU’s Center for American Civics is hosting 5 days of content and pedagogy workshops for pre-service teachers preparing to start their careers. College students who are taking courses in the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation or any other Arizona college of education can earn $200 for the first day of attendance, $100 for each additional day, and an additional $100 for attending all 5 days for a maximum possible stipend of $700 as well as Professional Development hours towards Arizona teacher recertification. Other students who are planning to enter the teaching profession are eligible as well.
Faculty of the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership will join with experienced civic educators and College of Education faculty to present lectures on core content knowledge, tips, tricks, and easy-to-use resources for teaching American civics. Topics will include:
● American History
● American Institutions
● The Arizona Constitution
● Comparative Regimes
