Upcoming Educator Events

We are excited to offer a series of engaging and impactful events for educators dedicated to civic education. These opportunities will provide valuable professional development in content and pedagogy, and collaborative discussions on civic education in Arizona.

From 2026-2028, we will be offering workshops in the Phoenix metro area, Tucson, Flagstaff, Show Low, and Lake Havasu!

Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Northern Arizona University College of Education - America 250

Join Prof. Sean Beienburg for a workshop exploring the Declaration of Independence as we approach the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Participants will examine the document line by line, with attention to its historical context, key ideas, and the Enlightenment influences that shaped its meaning and lasting significance.

The workshop will also feature practical strategies from experienced educators for bringing these sources and principles into the classroom in engaging and accessible ways.

In the afternoon, Sphere Education will lead sessions on civil discourse, offering educators tools and strategies for facilitating thoughtful discussion, respectful disagreement, and productive civic dialogue with students.

This workshop is hosted in partnership with the NAU College of Education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Registration is required.
